Why we discuse anti-semitism ? Because, it has been a topic of discussion in Europe from the early times and it has seen a resurgence in the past couple of years.
however you will all know him as jochim Pepper or something like that on this site. Aha. I'd been trying to drop his few highscores and comments in the arcade to ensure they didn't 'last for 1000 years', but I see it's all been reset anyway. hmmm, time for some tetris in that case; much more fun than Neo-nazi's.
Usually these types have already made up their mind and purposely rebuke any other thoughts that disagree with their own. There are a few who are willing to discusse why they decide to folow the nacional-socialism..:icon_police:
Anti-semitism has been around ever since there have been jews. The Greeks killed them off for not believing in their gods. ... Why would a polytheist Greek either kill or persecute someone for believing in another god? It was only centuries later in Imperial times, when Greece was part of the Roman empire, that Rome began to regard the Jews and early Christians as atheists for denying the immortal gods and, more particularly, for denying the deified emperors.
I doubt that any of the "killing off" was because Jews believed in a "different" God. The reasons for anti semitism always seem to be political. Of course the politicians sometimes encouraged the public to believe it has to do with God.
One of my abiding interests is Ancient Egypt, particularly the Old Kingdom. many thousands of years BC. About the time of the foundation of the "Sed Festival" Oddly enough the time of the Jews leaving Egypt was as far as can be established late, in the Pharaohs dynasty reign. What I cannot establish is where the Jewish tribes originated from. BY that, I mean the really archaic tribes. For what we read is comparatively modern when taken in the Egyptian time scale. Did they come in from outside? Like so many massive movements of people that occur now and then? Were they part and parcel of ancient Egypt itself, and just drifted apart to form their own . and go their separate ways. For nowhere can I find out about the origin of the Jewish peoples. By that I mean the Jewish folk of the Old Kingdom. For I can find no trace of them in that Old Kingdom period and that leaves me with a gap in my knowledge. Were they at one time part of the Egyptian people that went their own way? If anyone can help I would love to know
I have mixed views on that one, my own theory is that they were much like most religions through the ages, a small pocket here and there and in time becoming both bigger in number and more organised leading to a eventual coming together of the smaller groups to create bigger and again more organised groups and so on......
Sapper dont know if this is of any help. Egypt: The Jews of Ancient Egypt Been a long time since I studied anything ancient Egyptian All the best, Scott
Hi Sapper Martin Gilbert's "Jewish History Atlas starts at "Early Jewish Migrations about 2000 BC" Is this too late for your purpose? If it is, let me know, give me a few days and I will come back to you. I also hate mysteries
This is quite a good introduction: History of THE JEWS Or if you fancy a book then I would recommend "A History of the Jews" by Paul Johnson (it's tucked away somewhere on one of my bookshelves - but if you don't get anymore info here, I'll dig it out)
And, of course, there's our old & trusted friend Wikipedia: History of ancient Israel and Judah - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The original poster of this thread is a real winner: http://forums.performanceyears.com/forums/showthread.php?t=527853 In that forum, this Scott M. has got to be one of the most blatantly anti-minority (Jew, black, hispanic, whatever) person I have run across. This particular thread is just an example of how he thinks of Jews. I can't believe the mods on that site tolerate him.:mad111: tom
I can't believe the mods on that site tolerate him.:mad111: I found it suprising that they have not put a muzzle on him. If anyone needed it...
I'd assumed that was his first warning from the admin... I gave thought to joining the forum to get into that donnybrook just to have the chance to make him look like the idiot he is. But, then I thought, he's doing a good enough job of that all by himself.

It wouldn't hurt a bit if someone besides myself and a precious few other denizens of that site would point out his fallacies. He seems to think his views and methods of presenting and backing them up are superior to any counter to them. I need all the help I can get because sometimes I feel I'm over my head in dealing with him.......... tom
You know what's unfair? I used to be a real jerk on this site back when I first registered, and idk if any of the mods remember, but I posted neo-nazi stuff like web sites just to make my friend laugh (8th grade), and I wasn't serious. However, they banned me, and I had to beg for mercy to be allowed back in this site. I got it, thanks so much btw, and I think I redeemed myself, if I'm allowed to say that. Topic Creator should be banned
TrumpetP, Maturity does a lot things for you, doesn't it? I'm glad you are taking advantage of the second chance in a constructive way. I guess that you see now that being a man is not a mere matter of age.
