    Hi.

What are you specifically interested in ? Is there any special way you plan to organise this mass of information ? Would it be a good idea to introduce some kind of chronology?

It might be a help for you to go to my public profile and have look at the threads I have started and where they are located.

I don't have a lot of films (the bits I have seem to have been posted already) but I have bags of other stuff, esp photos. Most of them must be scanned from books.

I would also recommend you to ask the moderators to move this thread to the Scandinavia section. Some of my threads are in that forum, others in the Special Forces section.

Please be back with any requests.

Do you have any objections to my posts? I think the moderators of this forum move my thread if they think it is necessary ...

Have you found anything involving the "Independent" Companies that preceded the formation of the Commandos. I know my Father was posted to No.1 Independent Company and was sent to Norway in May 1940 in a group named (I think) ScissorForce. I have found various bits of info on No. 5 company and a return to Greenock after their withdrawal. One soldiers story recounts having stones and bottles thrown at him as he disembarked because they thought he was a german POW. This was because he was wearing a womans blouse and an old pair of trousers. These he had to scavenge to survive in Norway. he doesn't give details about the horrific conditions that resulted in this. The Pathe news reel I found is obviously propaganda as shows neat and tidy troops returning. anything would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
