  1. NORWAY CAMPAIGN 1940 Thompson, Alfred Henry Army Number 4858402

I have literally just signed up and would appreciate any help, tips, guidance, information etc that anybody could give me.

I'm building a museum in Andalsnes (Norway)
And have just found this helmet, which has belonged to

Thompson, Alfred Henry Leicestershire regiment 1/5 Battalion Army Number : 4858402
Saw action on 23/4/40 at Tretten.
    POW on 27/4/40?

I would be grateful for any assistance with more information about Thompson.

    Thank you

    Tor Christian

    Tor,
Alfred Henry Thompson was wounded in action and taken prisoner. He was repatriated to the UK in 1943. He is listed as Drummer A.H. Thompson in a casualtly list published in the Grantham Journal, 2nd August 1940.
Due to the fact that Alfred was repatriated, it is unlikely that he completed a liberation questionnaire. It may be worth contacting the Red Cross to see if they hold information about his time as a Pow and his repatriation?
