A soldier shot dead in Iraq has had a street named in his honour in his home town. L/Cpl Ben Hyde, 23, from Northallerton, North Yorkshire was one of six Royal Military Police (RMP) officers killed by an angry mob in Majar al-Kabir in June 2003. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-29876025

A fitting memorial for a local lad. I visited Northallerton quite a few times several years ago for work purposes at the prison. Nice town, a few nice pubs and I wish I could have seen more of the locality.
