    Hello!

Just doing a bit of research on two pilots, on crashed right next to my house:

    15/08/1941

    Hurricane I

    V7608

    55OTU

Flew into ground at Wardenshaw Golf Course, Houghton-le-Spring, Co. Durham

"In1941, a Hawker Hurricane fighter tried to make an emergency landing on Houghton Golf Course. The pilot, Sergeant Frank Stamp, of the Royal Canadian Air Force, sadly lost his life when the plane crash-landed."

    And....

One which my grandad saw come down..

"HurricaneI, V7590, 55 OTU suffered engine failure at Penshaw, Co.Durham piloted by P/O E Sokolowski who was slightly hurt on 12-9-41."

    Any information on either pilot/plane?

    Thanks,

    Andrew
