Hi Chris do you know what is the name or colour code it is called. Cheers Bill
It's wrong! Bovington have used the old blue version of 'silver grey'(which used to be assumed to be correct), but more recent research suggests that the correct colour is a yellowish light grey.

    Hi Bill

No, not really. I am a modeller and the guru on British (and other) colours is Mike Starmer. He has a book out, with colour swatches, on The Caunter Scheme which, when I bought it, came in at £10 (postage extra). It also shows the paint scheme, though not precisely for Rolls armoured cars; that scheme would be very similar to the Marrmon Harrington scheme which is illustrated.

Mike quotes Military Training Pamphlet (India) No 10 of 1941 (among other sources) which refers to 'silver grey' as BSC 28, but this is from the 1930 version of the standard. White Ensign Models market a colour ARB08 which Mike reckons is pretty close! HTH

I was talking about the pattern rather than the colours...but you're right, the use of blue apparently is incorrect. That said, I do wonder, given local expediency and supply challenges, whether we can categorically state precisely what colours were implemented. Yes, we can state the standard that was intended but experience shows that squaddies (and erks for that matter) had a tendency to apply whatever was "close enough" that they had available.

    Cheers,
    Mark
