Thanks for all your helpful comments, anyone know where reception st, Burley is? Here is my grandad Herbert Williams, he is on the right. No writing on the back sadly.

Excuse my ignorance but what does reception station mean in this context, does it mean HQ ? The beginning of that line says "admitted" so it has to be a military hospital of some kind im thinking. Burley is such a small village.

Sorry it's a guess at the moment based on:
It's obviously a medical facility of some kind. Station as a term is used in such as CCS (Casualty Clearing Station).
The New Forest was a hive of activity, much of it in tented accommodation and Burley is bang in the middle.
I imagine it was more like a temporary Sick Bay than a hospital where you went for minor injuries/illness. If you didn't improve or became more serious you were then sent to hospital.

I've managed to find several references to Medical Reception Station (often abbreviated to MRS) so am confident that bit is right.

Thanks Tim, I think you are right it as does make sense. Wish we could identify the soldiers in my photo.

Just found out No 4 Infantry Depot was in Northampton. Anyone know where exactly this would have been in Northampton?
