    Morning,

    Researching Sapper 1878221 Raymond Elsden

    who is buried in Newark Upon Trent Cemetery in Section G. Grave 303A.

    Would anyone have a picture of his headstone, please, or live close enough to be able to take one ??

    i know exactly where the headstone will be. weather has turned a bit so i'll pop over as soon as the sun comes out sometime this week if thats ok!

    Regiment/Service: 3rd Training Battalion Royal Engineers

    Grave Reference: Sec. G. Grave 303A.

    Cemetery: NEWARK-UPON-TRENT CEMETERY

    Additional Information: Son of Arthur Augustus Elsden, and of Florence Elsden, of North Waltham, Hants. Died from blood loss and shock from a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head at Bowbridge Road Emergency Hospital.

    There seems to be a discrepancy between the age he died. The gravestone says 18; death certificate 17. The two newspaper articles differ as well. Do either of you know the date he was born?

    England & Wales , Civil Registration Birth Index says birth 1923 Walsall mothers maiden name Fellows.
