    Kitty,
Thought you would of been wearing your wellies, didn't expect you to be wearing designer shoes to take the pics.

hiking boots. true, they were £100, but they do the job. Except for Burbage. Someone will pay dearly for the state of that churchyard. Missed one as could not see it in the thick, manky undergrowth. Will go back in mid winter when its all died down. Wearing my wellies.:wow:

Thanks for the British lists, will get them emailed back this weekend.

    Gerry,

That information would be fantastic and i'm sure that the VAC would appreciate it. If you can PM me then i'll give you my email address where you can send it.
    Thanks

    Kitty,

I'll send you a tin of dubbin for your boots if you want. I look forward to seeing the lists and the photos when you get round to sorting them out. I agree that some churchyards are in a very bad way and the parish should be ashamed of themselves for allowing their churchyards to get in that state.

Great project gen! Glad the photos I sent off of the Pennfield Ridge casualties will have another home.

Though I totally support this endeveour, I would also like to see Vetern Affairs develope a website for searching all personnel. Much like the Australian's have done... www2roll.gov.au ...this allows a searchable database of both casualties and surviving veterns. The best feature... searchable by service number! I have list upon list of RCAF personnel, last name and s/n only... I would love to find out more on them.

    Hi Jason,

Thanks for your vote of confidence on the project, its much appreciated. And thankyou very much for the photos, i have downloaded them onto my computer and will be adding them to VAC this evening. It normally takes a couple of days to appear on their database but you'll be able to see your handywork probably around friday. I do agree with you that it would be nice if they would expand their database to include surviving members of the Canadian Forces as well but i think your laws are very similar to ours over here with the privacy law etc. However i will bring this up in the meeting i've set up with them when i get over there.
    Take care

    Hi All,

I'm pleased to announce that this project has just completed talks with another website who is going to take on all the photos of WW1 Canadian casualties. The Canadian Great War Project are trying to put all information of Canadian service personnel online whether or not they were casualties. Their database includes all those that survived as well and they have records of over 75,000 up online already. Also online they have 6,500 war diary entries, 380 transcribed letters and newspapers articles, 530 images and 380 book/media descriptions. They have a number of volunteers working on transcribing attestation papers.
As you all know the aim of my project is to get all this information up online so people can access it for FREE. With this partnership we are going to be a huge step nearer to keeping the memory of all service personnel alive forever. You can find their website at Canadian Great War Project

Also i'm now in talks with the old BWMP who have totally re-thought the way they now work. There was a huge rift between the two directors and they have now gone their seperate ways and Richard has now decided to go along the lines of providing photos and information for all WW1 & 2 for FREE. He has totally redesigned the website along with a new name, which is The International Armed Forces Memorial. Anyone can upload photos or information of casualties to the website and anyone can access the information for free. That means that we now have a FREE website for thew British casualties which has been sadly lacking. He does include all other Commonwealth and Axis Powers casualties.

My plan is to get as many partnerships with other websites as possible so that if one website falls by the wayside at least there will be other websites who will still be holding photos.

My time is now being spent uploading photos to websites and if anyone can get out there and take some photos and send them to me it would be really appreciated. You will be credited with the taking of the photos as will this project.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask them, i'll only be too pleased to answer them.

    Take care All
