Hello all. I'm new to the forum as well. My Grandfather, Norman Dick, served as a Company Sergeant Major with the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders. Am looking for unit rosters to see which company he was in and then what unit action reports exist. I don't have a lot of info but the only thing I recall him or my mum telling me was that he was at the La Bassee Canal and the Escaut Canal battles. He did mention shooting down a German Aircraft with a machine gun. He was wounded by mortar fire and then captured. His leg was saved by a German Doctor who overruled the French doctor who wanted to amputate. He was imprisoned in Stalag 20 (I think). Anyway if any one has info on the Camerons in 1940 please share.
