    Hello everyone.

After my Dutch book about the Royal Canadian Dragoons was published last March, I can now proudly announce that the same book is also available in English.
I said proudly, but I am incredibly proud that it succeeded in getting the book published.

In the final weeks of the Second World War, the Royal Canadian Dragoons advanced through the northern Netherlands, liberating towns and villages that had endured years of German occupation.

Springbok in the Liberation of Northern Netherlands takes readers into those final days of the war, following the Dragoons' advance from April 11 to April 16, 1945, through Drenthe and Friesland and toward the liberation of Leeuwarden. Drawing on wartime diaries, military reports, resistance records, archives, photographs, maps, newspaper accounts, and personal collections, Klaas Rein Noppert reconstructs the events in remarkable detail.

The book explores reconnaissance missions, encounters with German forces, cooperation with Dutch resistance groups and Allied units, the role of French SAS paratroopers, and the experiences of the civilians who witnessed liberation after five years of occupation.

It also remembers the soldiers who lost their lives, documenting the fallen and wounded members of the Royal Canadian Dragoons and preserving their stories for future generations.

The result is more than a military account. It is a historical record of courage, sacrifice, liberation, and the enduring connection between Canadian soldiers and the Dutch communities they helped free.

Featuring original wartime photographs, detailed maps, casualty records, archival research, and previously little-known accounts, this book offers an important resource for readers interested in the Second World War, Canadian military history, Dutch history, military operations, and the liberation of the Netherlands.

    Lest we forget.

The book's structure supports this positioning: the main narrative follows the events of April 11 through April 16, followed by an epilogue, the history of the Royal Canadian Dragoons in WWII, and sections covering command, staff, vehicles, sources, archives, and referenced people.
