Bring out the Battle of Britain on DVD, excelent and about time too, my VHS version is so worn out it now flashes from colour to Black and white. Extra features doco's, etc also very worth while. But what is with the new music score? I can only say poor quality, inapropriate, definately not a patch on the origional score. It is unfortunately the default score so to get rid of this trash you have to go the menu and choose the score off option, then you will be free to watch this magnificent film with its wonderful musical drive, without it being second rated by the squalid new tinkeling drivel.

Lovejoy as the Sgt Pilot - could have made a bob if he flogged the Spit.

The music is often on Classic FM ... not that I listen to it much, too many adverts for pensions and wills ... and I'm only in my twenties!

    Back to good old R4.

Is the 'new score' you don't like in fact the original score by Sir William Walton('Henry V' et al )? The producers didn't like it and eventually jettisoned it in favour of the now-familiar score by Ron Goodwin ('633 Squadron' etc). On the theatrically released version only one sequence of Walton survived-the long dogfight over the North Sea. One of the big selling points of the new DVD was that it restored the original Walton score in its entirety!

Yes, reading the box it is the William Walton score. But I think the producers made the right decision, and I liked the music for 633 Squadron too. All I can say is well done Mr Goodwin.

Yes, I got that new DVD, and was mightily angry at the generic music at the end.

I understand there is a DVD after that, which restores the old music, and has some featurettes. Anyone here have any information on that?
