As an ex member of RAF Salalah 70/71 I have over the 40 years since, read a number of accounts of the Battle of Mirbat. . I agree with your sentiments but I'm sure you will agree with me that the Oman Campaign as a whole has been one of the " little wars" that get no recognition. If I remember rightly that it was only on the intervention of Sultan Quaboos that the MOD agreed to award the GSM Dhofar!! Colin.
