Coming very soon - written by Alastair Hill about his great uncle James "Jimmy" Sneddon of the 156 Battalion who was killed near Wolfheze, it coves Jimmy's story as well as the family and Alastair's hunt for information, plus elements of the story of Alex Munro who was a neighbour of Jimmy's and also served in the 156 Battalion being killed earlier in the battle & John O'Rourke another Wishaw man killed at Arnhem after reaching the bridge. I have done a little research on the 3 men in the past as Lanarkshire (and particularly Wishaw, my home town) men at Arnhem has been an interest of mine for a while, but odd our research paths have never crossed so it was a pleasant surprised to get an email at the weekend that was the first I knew of the book. I dropped Alastair a message and we have just spent a very pleasant couple of hours chatting enthusiastically about the book and research. Alastair is having a book launch in Lanark on the 19th October if anyone is around and wants to pop in - details of the book and launch on face book at Wishaw To Wolfheze If anyone has any more info on Jimmy, Alex or John then Alastair would love to hear from you, from our chat its clear the book is a milestone in the research but definitely not the end. Alistair (on behalf of Alastair)
