This is a real longshot as I have searched every where with out success. I am looking for information on the badges worn by 64 Medium Rgt RA. They are mentioned in a post here on 1 Airborne Med Rgt, the unofficial title given to 64 Med by 1 A/B Div for their long range support at Arnhem. The regimental history by Denis Falvey "A Well Known Excellence" states that the Pegasus badge awarded by 1 A/B was worn on the forearm because there wasn't room on the upper arm for it. Already worn were the 21 Army Group and XXX Corps badges and the regimental sign, a black elephant on a red background. I am trying to discover how these badges were worn (one above the other, formation signs side by side etc.) and what exactly the regt sign looked like (background shape, size etc.) Also if the normal RA shoulder title and arm of service strip were worn. I realise that this is probably a million to one shot but if anyone has any suggestions as to where I might look in case I have overlooked anywhere I would be extremely grateful. Derek
Derek im sure someone on the forum will possibly have suggestions have you tried The Royal Artillery Museum - Firepower - Royal Arsenal in Woolwich - Homepage British Formation Signs you might get some pointers
I agree with rockape560. Try the British Badge Forum here: Royal Artillery, Royal Engineers and Royal Signals. - British & Commonwealth Military Badge Forum The guy your really need is 54Bty. He was until recently teh Registrar at Firepower and what he doesn't know about RA uniforms and Badges just isn't worth knowing! Phil
