Need help to ID some US webbing equipment

    I found these laying on the floor at a garage sale. They were glad to take a dollar each for them.

    That was the weekend before last and I have been doing research ever since. I think i nailed down the map bag and the ammo bag but the life vest and backpack are completely unknown and I need help!

    Try posting on WW2F.com. There are a good many Americans there, including me. Unfortunately, I don't know much about US equipment.

    From Osprey's US Army Combat Equipments 1910-1988:

    p1050239 is an Improved M1910 General Purpose Ammunition Bag with M1936 Carrying Strap.

    The map case is more properly a Dispatch Case, the illustration I've got says it's M1936 but yours may be a later version in a more olive, less khaki, shade.

    There's nothing like the rucksack in there...

    Whatever they are with 1944 manufacture and judging by the condition doesen't look like they saw much use.

    standard US map case, lord knows, not WW2 us for sure, standard OG7 late war GP ammo bag
