Maybe a little outside the subject but what about Samincheh? He was a Chinese from the Royal Navy Chinese Section. He had been a POW during the war. He is believed murdered around 26 February 1946 in Palembang while serving onboard an HMS. Two Sub LT is believed to have been murdered while searching for him. He is as far as I know not commemorated by CWGC.

I know they were murdered when they went out searching for him. Because of my research I probably have the best database on British/Indian casualties in Netherlands East Indies 45/46.

To me the sad thing is that the man whom they went out searching for is not commemorated anywhere.

Could you possibly post the info you have to see if there is a chance of commemoration

HOULDER, Robert George Sub-Lieut. RNVR. H.M.S. Tana. Missing presumed killed 26th February 1946 (age 29). HMS Tana – shore base in Kilindini, Kenya. Son of George Addyman Houlder and Magdalen Frances Houlder, of Borough Green, Kent.

Cannot find the other Sub Lt on the same page but I would assume it would have been the same country that he was killed in as R G Houlder.

    What does c

Where has he been moved to from Plymouth ? Or what does that mean ?

originally his name was on the Plymouth Naval Memorial to the Missing as he had no known grave. Once I saw the file above I searched the area for a grave & find it. Findings were passed on to CWGC who agreed to move his commemoration to the cemetery in Australia.
