In a couple of weeks time I'm on a weeks leave. I plan on going to the National Archive to do some more research.

If anyone would like me to search WO344 and WO208 for them, please let me know. There will be a charge for photocopying and postage etc. The charge however, is not to line my pockets but to cover the costs of the above and the rest of the money will be given to Lee for the upkeep of this website.

I sincerely hope that the above meets to everyones approval.

There's nothing specific that I can ask for but in your research if you should happen to come across anything in regards Stalag IVD/Z at Annaberg, I'd really like to hear about. It was the main camp for Indian POWs. Probably a long shot but thanks forthe offer. Sorry to be so vague.

Dear 52 Airborne , I am new to this, but I was wondering if it were possible for you to look up the following serviceman's records for me. Namely :16129 Pte Oliver John Davison Harland. 1st. Batt. East Yorkshire Regt.(WW one) I believe that he (my father) is listed at the Natioal Archives under WO/372/9 or maybe WO /364 ' records of soldiers discharged between 1914-1920. I have not been able to determine if my father's records survived the later war damage. I am aged 76 now and I am the carer for my wife. That inhibits me from travelling to the N.A. myself. It is possible that my father's Medical Records have become separated from his Service Records. I have seen my fathers 'medal card' he qualified for the three ."Pip Queek and Wilfred" medals. If this interests you I can supply further details. Perhaps you may like to contact me by email in the first instance. Note: I have put a post on the 'Remembrace ' thread today. Thank you for your interest Southern Geordie.

I found the file for Stalag IVD/Z for you it's: WO224/14B.
It is a very small file (14 pages) dating from November 1942 - May 1944. I'm sorry I didn't have time to do the photocopying, it was very busy today at T.N.A. But I did give the file the once over and it does mention the camp being an Indian camp.
