It's such a shame those Canuckistan low profile trials came to nought.
Could've been a really interesting fleet by late war.

They get a write up here.... :)

    Experimental 6X6 Artillery Tractor

"Three obsolete 6×4 Ford trailing-axle chassis were selected for conversion, one as an unarmoured 4×6, and the other two as armoured 6×6 vehicles. Thornton 4-wheel rear bogies, with self-locking differentials, were fitted. This US-made bogie gave the wheels a high degree of movement when traveling over broken ground."

This is one of the vehicle designs that ensured the initally 'unwanted' US half tracks persisted in UK and Canadian service.

Nora Batty ......... never heard of this before! Would have guessed: Himmelfahrtskommandokugel, but for Chris C's solution. 50kph??! You could imagine this on 'Last of the Summer Wine.'

Well that's odd... I would hazard a guess at one of those German conversions of other nations' vehicles. Too bad we can't see more suspension details.

Chap on twatter threw it out there.
Normally I've got an instinctive starting point, but little springs to mind other than a nagging 'you've seen this'... but I've seen a few.
    Svenskish?

    It’s a Swedish Pansarvarnkanonvagn II/III tank hunter.

Constructed and trialled alongside the Pvkv IV, the Pvkv II and III was based on the Strv m/41 chassis and mounted either the 57mm Pvkan m/43 or the 75mm L/60 Lvkan m/36 anti aircraft gun. The gun was mounted in a open topped turret which gave the vehicle a excellent gun depression of 12 degrees. Ultimately the work on the Pvkv II/III was scrapped in favour of up-gunning a more stable platform like the Strv m/42. I honestly don't even know what to compare this vehicle with, its closest comparison would probably be the M10 although taller.
