    Hello All,

This is my first post on this site, so forgive me if i'm on the wrong sub-forum. I've recently uncovered the service jacket of my great uncle Martin Dobbs. I'm not too well versed in military badges/patches, so that's why I'm here.

From my layman's perspective he has 3 overseas stripes and one service stripe (not pictured, found in pocket). His left shoulder tells me he's a tech 5th grade, and I've researched his upper/unit patch to be perhaps from the China Burma India Theater. His left collar disc looks to be that of the Corps of Engineers. His right shoulder looks to me like a flying tiger.

Beyond this I know nothing of my great Uncle's service. If someone could confirm/correct my appraisal of his patches/badges; and identify what medals/ribbons he's earned I would me much obliged. What would someone with a Corps of Engineer collar disc do with the Flying Tigers? Also, if someone could tell me what time period they'd expect Martin to have served in. I understand the flying tigers were disbanded in July of '42. and replaced by the 23rd Fighter group. I've researched patches from the 23rd and none seem to match my uncle's.

    Much appreciated,
    JP

I have no idea how to add photos to this site.
