I've been reading and researching about my great uncle a Sapper who died in ww2, Sapper John Kelly and my grandad James Thomas Holden.the desert rat who never spoke about his war years or service or even wanted his medals.my mum his daughter at 70 thought it disrespectful for her to read about his years in ww2.My grandad was for sure a very physicaly fit man and known because he could walk up n down any flight of stairs on his hands.perfectly balanced..my mum watched the battle of Al Alamein last night and is very proud but humbled maybe.she has not the words to express how its made her feel..she be real shocked when I get his war records..I feel we can celebrate his bravery together now..happy days..
