Just to say that, with my father's records, and despite being awarded medals, this page was completely blank apart from the NOK section, records therefore, not necessarily consistent.

Tony, i get your point & that was the case with your Father's records. If Daniel, does not ask, then he will not know. Sorry for stating the obvious. Those chaps at the records office have been known for not copying all of the records. They still seem to be on short staff due to that whats-it virus.

The quality of the scanning that they have sent Daniel, is not of a high standard! I must of been rather lucky with all the info i got re my Grandfather. 30 sheets & a long time in them returning the records is not cricket. Nothing has changed with that office. Painfully slow.

Edit: I think i waited about six months for mine? That was about 5-6 years ago.

    Regards,
    Stu.

    Hi All
Just to let you know I have sent an email and have a reply confirming they will look into it and that it will take several months-Hey Ho
I'm still much farther forward than I would have been without the help you have all given me
and whilst I am waiting it gives me plenty of time to find a medal restorer.
    Thank you

It may be wise to try your local TA barracks if you have one? The chap would not accept any money for the new ribbons & putting them on a bar. My Mum, was rather pleased with the outcome. So was i. A cheque was sent but was never cashed..;)

Some may say that you should not clean the medals. That's for another thread.

    Regards,
    Stu.
