Many thanks to members who have patiently answered my queries, and helped with my research as I have transcribed my father's diaries. My intention has been to preserve his words, and so I have created a website to make it easier to read what he wrote.
If you would like to read it , it's here:
    www.frankwallbankswar.weebly.com

It covers his time, with the 3rd King's Own Hussars in Egypt, Libya, Palestine, Syria, and Egypt.
I hope some of you will enjoy it.

Very very nice work, thanks for doing that.

In Section 1: Giovanni Berto should be Giovanni Berta. The German light tank at Tobruk is actually an Italian M13/40 medium tank.

    All the best

    maisiefosse.

A most valuable record, well written and beautifully organised and presented. A fine tribute and a worthy memorial to your Father, and to the 3rd King's Own Hussars.

It is a privilege to read it and pleased that a copy is available through this Forum.

    Regards,

    Joe Brown.

    Maisie,

Being a bit parochial and all that, loved reading the Italian section.

Great photo of the Monte Oreste tunnel area by the way - my Dad's mob had a fine old time down there in early June 1944.
