I don't recall if I mentioned this: I'm giving Otto 27 banker boxes of books on WWII. I won't need them any more. (Rumbles of a lending library should be taken with a pinch of snuff.)

Forgot to mention, I splurged last weekend and ordered Michael Moss' book on the PIAT, and a copy of Mailed Fist by John Foley.

When you've attempted to rehabilitate the Covenanter, Supermarine Scimitars are a mere bagatelle.

Not on topic I realise, but having watched the film again last weekend, one of my absolute favourites, I went a-hunting for one of the books on which it is based and found a nice inexpensive edition compared to the prices for most of the others available.

A trio of finds at my local Op Shops. I believe the gods of RAF have been smiling upon me:D

I know little about the Dowding book but reading the rear of the dust cover the author co-wrote one of my favorite aircrew books with C.F Rawnsley- 'Night Fighter'. So expecting it to be good.

    Total outlay- $6.

Cycling home with these was not trivial. ;) The total weight is close to 5 kg. Also, my pocketbook is reeling from the blow!

Kershaw was interviewed about his book on Angus Wallace's "WW2 Podcast". Seemed promising!

I might have gone to a book sale today. Would have bought more but I would have to cycle home with them.

I went to another book sale.

The cut off title is Artist at War, a memoir by one of Canada's official war artists, born in Scotland. I just found out that Alex Colville wrote one too.

Cost me a small fortune, but I had to have:

I gave away over 500 books a few years ago, all to the Naval History and Heritage Command and the Naval History and Heritage Association. Still have 25 cases of books waiting for Otto to make up it here to collect them. (They safe and secure, Otto.)

Got some National Trust family freebies so went to Batemans, home of Rudyard Kipling. There’s a secondhand bookshop on site and I picked up these. One is a WW1 German pilot memoir, the other is an RAF pilot memoir from the 30s. My missus was naturally ecstatic that I could add to my book collection even on a Sunday family outing in the middle of nowhere.
