Went here in November with my team of battlefield guides on our Eastern France trip. This relatively new museum is located in the village of Nouvion-Porcien, north-east of Reims. As such it is in the French Ardennes, rather than 'Battle of the Bulge' country. It tells the story of the fighting in this area from the Franco-Prussian War to WW2. The museum is huge, and a real treasure-trove of vehicles and equipment. On entering the museum you can use an audio-visual system to follow a story from 1870 to 1945, but although we followed a couple of these, we preferred to wander about. Great museum - one of the best of the 'new' museums I have been to in a long while. Website:

While we were there a special exhibition told the story of Toy Soldiers; more of that later.

So, on to the Toy Soldiers! It was a great ehibition, with vintage 'flats' right through to Airfix, Matchbox, Tamiya, and right up to date with all the new 1/6th scale stuff. Below is the box art display, which I thought was quite good.

This was part of 15 foot by 5 foot diorama of a 1/6th attack by French troops on a German trench in 1915. It was quite something to behold!

So, final one. Hope these have been of interest!
