    Not necessarily. The British Army did have some quantities of enemy weapons at its disposal, as I have been chronicling elsewhere. Some were retained at training establishments so that British personnel could be made familiar with enemy weapons, while others were dropped to resistance movements in Europe. It would be interesting to know what camps and bases were located in the Frome Valley during the war.
