You can also see them on line at " + theTitle + " One question about the 1:25000 maps somebody may be able to answer. I'm familiar with them as they were available in the sixties as "declassified" military maps and we used them for trekking. Even if officially marked IGM (Istituto Geografico Militare) the markings, grids and symbols match very closely WW2 maps used by the allies during the war, was a fulll set of WW2 era IGM large scale maps sent to the allies during the 1943 armistice days? They appear pretty common in post Sept. 1943 documents while the ones I saw for the Sicily campaign (pre-armistice) are much cruder and less detailed.
