Interesting app for those of us consistently puzzled by modern gear. Bit of a bias towards Russian kit so far, but seems to be gradually expanding. Sensible layout. Seems well-researched. So far, a decent use of a fiver of Google credit. Google: AFV Recognition Crapple: AFV Recognition

I have seen a lot of hyperbole about it, though. Russia and other nations have always done this, and there's nothing 'new' for them in the Abrams (or Leopard) variants displayed. Abrams has been about for a long time, and been lost a fair few times from it's original owners to the Saudis in Yemen. It's a tank. They get knocked out. USSR, Berlin, London:
Part of my brain is still in the 1980s. Sometimes I forget it's 2024. I know it's an old tank & wasn't in US service when it was brewed. Still made me go "Blimey" when I saw it though.
Despite some soshul meeja hilarity it appears to have worked on a few occasions. The 'Shelled area' concept. It's been a thing for a while. Plus ça change. We used to call them tortoises...
Warriors hitting the disposal market next year. Can think of a few collectors that might be wondering if a certain conflict in the East will still be keeping prices sky high. Britain to dispose of 80 Warrior infantry fighting vehicles in 2025
At least they've hidden the Leopard-look trackguards. A couple of weekends ago, I was on top of the Leyland gate-guardian Cent looking at this: And wondering if there'd ever be a gun with a CIIIR crest?
TD just released a long read on the history of Boxer: Boxer and the British Army — An Illustrated History - Think Defence
Decent video on Challenger III from Task & Purpose. (Once you've stopped wincing at the pronunciation of Telford...) I like his style. Quite calm compared to many similar but hyperbolic chaps. I see we're at 'Farnham & Epsom' armour point now. Feel old as I still think Chobham is fancy. Made me look at this Septic/Rheinmettal 'DM11' triple role ammunition.. Blimey. Stuff does come on a bit when you're not paying attention, doesn't it. Programmable air-burst, from a tank round. Imagine that in Normandy... Also. Yeah. Build more tanks. (I know nothing of the modern balance or serious stuff thereof. I just like tanks, OK.)
Shared by Think Defence on TwatterX. Swapping over a Boxer module with gantry crane. Then pottered onto Armoured Recovery module, etc.
