My father served in the MLBU 151 during 1945. The unit was trained and prepared for its purpose in Shropshire (Wellington) en Worchester (Kidderminster). Although it was a Belgian Unit but actually incorporated in the 21st army group under British command. The unit stayed more then 5 months during the winter 45-46 in Oostende, but also shorter times in Vilvoorde, Ath & Terlanen. In april 1946 the MLBU 151 was dismantled and came under Belgian command. In letters of my father we read that they used POW's to do the work. Also we read that the worked in shifts 24/24. Where can I find more information about this unit?

Historic Steve Researching 21 Army Group/BAOR post VE day

Have yet to start recording the Belgium Army units for my project, however have read through the War Diaries for HQ Line of Communication and 151 Mobile Laundry and Bath Unit is incomplete, here is what I have found:

    28 Aug 45 – Ostend to Calais
    13 Sep 45 – Leuze-en-Hainaut
    25 Sep 45 – Ath
    26 Sep 45 – Ostend
    Bath Sub-Section – Dieppe

From November 1945 have noted that units started to move to the Belgium High Command so disappeared from British Army records.

Best of luck with your research.
