    CL,

I have both spoken to and emailed Kentigern House several times over the last year. it was only in the last week or so that I got written confirmation that the certificate of annulment of marriage on the grounds of "presumed death" is acceptable as a record of death. The application is on its way. As I understand it, due to Covid, it is likely to be six months plus before I get a reply.

I lived on the circle line too"

The photos I posted above, all from WO 361/2101 are difficult to read.

Here is a transcription of the relevant parts of the photos:

    First photo:

    " 3315812 Gnr CASEY ( See Page 15 ) "

    Second photo:

( This is a cover of a BRE roll compiled in Singapore )

    3rd H.A.A. Battery 6th H.A.A. Regt. R.A. Pages 3 - 15

Third photo ( blue paper ):

    Complete photo of page 15

Fourth photo shows the writing at the top of the page 15:

" Nominal Roll of 3rd Battery of 6th H.A.A. Regt.

No particulars of these men are available "

( 5th name from top is Casey )

5th Photo is a close up of Casey's details in photo 4:

" 3315812 Gnr. Casey D" followed by a tick that is crossed, followed by a pencil tick, followed by "M"

All this photography establishes is that the name and number of Gnr Casey D 3315812 is included in a list of men found to be part of the 3rd Battery of the 6th H.A.A. Regiment R.A. and that he is "M", which means missing.

The other file I referred to is WO 361/247, which I gave details for. This file was complied in London at the War Office. I have not seen the file but it will have statements on it regarding men of the 3rd Battery compiled over several years, including statements from men who managed to escape from Singapore, and returning prisoners of war. It may have further details of the subject of your enquiries.

    Hi Kyle,

Many thanks for that document regarding confirmations. I was puzzled as the nearest "St Joseph's RC Church" is miles away from the area of Glasgow I am researching. However, I have discovered that there used to be a church of that name which has since been demolished. Almost certainly, this record is another brick in my wall.
