Thought this might be of some use in locating base facilities, roads etc. in Egypt (prewar). Some of the information in there is very specialised, but it might be worth my drawing attention to Appendix 3B that lists and details wells, oases and other water supplies in the Western Desert.

 

Yes, I just wish the other maps, especially Alexandria, were intact!

I keep on meaning to buy one of the wartime "Services Guide to Cairo / Alexandria" - both have decent maps if I recall correctly, and they're relatively common.
