Rubbish at Tractors. Very sketchy info to hand, but believe you're right.
Looks like the 'military' aspect may well have been adaptation to Lever steering.

And not Military, but as I know you probably like tractors too...

    Some lovely stuff there.
I probably spent more time looking at tractors (some amazing concourse 30s-80s machinery present) than testing cider.
I do not apologise for this.

Not WW2 or military, but a nice couple of videos covering the recovery of a buried Dozer.
Maybe a D7? Not sure. (if nothing else, it's interesting how long some of these 'WW2' models served. Somebody got something right for a fair while.)

(Once you get past the slightly yee-ha 'TV' tone, this chap's rather clever at this 'strange recoveries' specialism. Some interesting vids on his channel.)

A Caterpillar (D2?) not in a shed as it would appear but in the cargo hold of a Hamilcar glider.

    Aeronut,

D4 I think. They all look alike from this angle but are very different in size etc. The D4 was used by airborne troops and carried in Hamilcars. Glider pilots were not very keen on them. If you crashed on landing this dozer tended to end up in the cockpit with you.
