    Hi guy's,

Can anyone help me with the metal tag below and it's provenance, i've found many over the years at air bases and coastal defences and thought they may have come off sandbags. I thought RMC may stand for 'Ready mix concrete' as i know that there is a gravel pit close to Heckmondwike owned by them. Thanks in advance for your replies chaps!!

    Cheers, Ned.

Are you thinking of Heckmondwike in West Yorkshire?

could they be tags off Reinforced steel mesh that is put into cement on runways and taxiways , they usually come in stacks wired together and these could identify the manufacturer , ...just a thought ...

never seen any type of metal tag on cement bags though .

Found one identical in British Gibraltar Upper Rock. Gibraltar was very heavily fortified during WWII. I was thinking it belonged to wooden cable drum, maybe not, just an idea.
