I'm not sure this is in the right place, but we are planning on visiting Normandy specifically to attend some of the commemorations on 5/6th June, including the paratroop drop at Ranville.

However I seem to remember reading about a 'guided' walk from Varaville to Merville Battery that takes place during the night. Is my memory correct, and does this still take place?

That walk sounds great but it was a on-off unfortunately.

The attached, organised by France 44 is more what I was thinking of but the article is from 2015.

Just back from Normandy and managed to find what we were looking for! A thoroughly enjoyable and informative 7km walk circum-navigating DZ V and the surrounding lanes of Merville Battery with stands and points of interest along the way organised by Association France 44. I believe they also organise a walk from Sword beach to Amfreville. A big thank you to these guys for all the effort they put in. The photo is taken outside the church at Gonneville.

We were also lucky (not) to bump into a Sherman on the outskirts of Creully! I have never seen a working Sherman before, especially being driven down a country lane!
