Loved the first one, can't see myself running II on this machine  I was however amazed that 'Rome' ran so well.... hmmm. Time for an upgrade.

I have the first Medieval Total War. My computer is a few years old so Im sure the second one would not go so well. I plan on getting Rome Total War, it seems good.

the II is much better than the I. When playing it, try to add some moral components in the game, such as never attack other nations on my own initiative but would reiterate when invaded by others, send emissary to propose ceasefire at regular intervals; when occupy a city or a town, never massacre its population. However, do not apply these conditions when play against Mongols, as Mongols were monsters, they deserve(d) to be eliminated. One drawback of the II, in my perspective, is that you can't choose heir, the heir is always the oldest son. What if the oldest son's attributes are ruthless, greedy and lustful? Do you want him to success the throne? One webmate in the Total War discussion forum suggest a solution if this is the case: always send him to battles, let him die on the battleground!
