Just been handed these from my daughter in law, they belonged to her grandfather who was in the 1st Bn Welsh Guards. It would be of interest if additional information could be added. I'm told that the spelling of the name on the reverse of one of the 'medals' should read T. Nichols, it was originally engraved incorrectly. Thank you all. Peter
Hi Peter, The Coronation Medal is likely a commemorative issue by the unit - it’s not the official Coronation Medal - perhaps signifying his participation on the parade or as a street liner.
