Medal I found yesterday I don't know if it is military

    Sorry for the long title, this is a medal I found yesterday and I don't know what it's from.

    This is a photo I found on the Internet when searching AAA.
    Every reason to believe that the Medal in question is from an Amateur Athletics Association meeting.

    Lion and Crown make we think of The Army's insignia. Take a look at the Army Athletics Association badge. Where they around in 1939?

    I thought it was just an Imperial lion, but you're right about the crown.

    Pretty sure it is army. The lion and crown is the 'logo' of the War Office. The Army Athletics Association has existed since before WWI.
