Just finished watching the DVD. It's a Norwegian film, based on Manus' book of the wartime exploits of him and his fellow resistance members. I enjoyed it. The action scenes are excellent and, having seen a few European films, I'm used to the 'thoughtful' sections that occur in this genre - although these may not be to everyone's taste. Knew very little about the Norwegian Resistance, except the Norsk raid, so educational as well.

Just watched it last night and must say it is a thoroughly excellent film: accuracy, story pace, effects, musical score, the whole shebang. I was really amazed. Wish I'd had the chance to see it at the pictures.

The documentary feature is equally fascinating, with interviews with the real people involved.

    FIVE STARS!

I'd never heard of Max Manus before and I'm really glad the film opened my eyes to him and the other parts of the Norwegian Resistance less famous than Telemark.
