Does anyone know if any events are planned fo rthe 60th anniversary in a few weeks time? The first airborne landings took place on Sunday, 17 September, 1944.
There are various activities planned around the various sites, as like D-Day, soon there will be no one left who fought in the campaign.
Have a look here - http://www.holland.com/us/index.html?page=.../us/rbtkan.html and http://www.marketgarden.com/ Ryan

Any veterans doing the Ginkelsheide drop this year, like they have done on several occasions in the past few years? B.

Ian, I'm over in June with a group and it is my intention to take them to the cemetery for 45 minutes or so and I'll happily take a photo of said grave...is he a relative? Also are you aware of the book on the 1st Btn Border Regt- When Dragons Flew? Originally came out in 1993 or so but is due to be reprinted in an expanded version hopefully in the next few months
As Am probably has i also have the book 'where dragons flew, cant do flowers as early as AM can, but I will be out there in Sept for the commerations so will make sure I put a remberance cross at the grave, PM me with the words you want and I will lay it. I used to live in Carlisle, and will be at the 65th with a vet from the Broder Regiment HQ so not a problem. P
Ian I am in Oosterbeek in April with a friend, and intend to take photographs of all in Oosterbeek cemetery, so can get you a photograph or two then. Do you wish the cross/flowers then or on the anniversary of his death? If so let me know and we will see what we can do Andy

I was a founder member of the Poole MGVA. having taken part in that operation. The MGVA is now virtually ended locally. So we never get to hear or see anything remembering those days. Sapper
