It is important to see things like this, too many Canadians don't seem to know their history anymore or the contributions Canada made in the Great War and WW2 outside of maybe Vimy. Here at my work, I constantly get puzzled looks when I try to explain why it is so important to remember what happened. Sadly enough I am pretty sure the average Canadian if they know anything at all about WW2 can probably tell you more about the American's involvement then they can Canada's.
Bookmarked the page. And I'm one American who knows about Ortona and Walcheren. But I agree...Canadians probably know more about Iwo Jima than Juno Beach. I blame Hollywood and TV, of course, as well as parents, teachers, and children.
