Major A.B. Smethurst M.C.

    Sadly passed away yesterday at the age of 97 at a care home in Nottingham - Susan Smethurst was given the news just last night and asked me to inform the forum as this is her last link to her Father's family.
    RIP - AB !

    Thank you so much for all the messages. Uncle AB was a character and a half. Still driving at 94, only went into a home this year and if physically very frail was still recognisable as the man in the photos and still telling me the 46th RTR were scruffy compared to his brother in 1RTR.

    to make use of his nickname is a dead giveaway that you knew him well possibly as a member of the 46th RTR and so your knowledge would be first hand- Susan will be pleased to learn of your connection...
