Makes two of us. Does anyone remember the Russian kit. There was a machine gunner that was in two parts. I kept on loosing half of him.

Just remembered I used to have the Airfix French Cuirassiers, they used to fight my Airfix British Infantry.

I remember in late 80s seeing an advert in small ads in Military Modelling , chap offering to buy any for 50p each which I took him up on.

I remember the Cuirassiers well. Mine used to fight these guys. They used to paint up quite well.

Since a lot of my epic battles took place in the back garden, I went with the larger scale 1/32 airfix kits.

I too spent more hours than I care to mention painting my tiny army of Airfix figures.

Non of which survived long due to the terrible battle conditions thay had to endure:D, which I suppose was nothing compared to the battle damage inflicted by my airpistol on the Airfix planes dangling from the washline.

It often resulted in realistic looking Flak damage!;)

That brings back many memories, Orwell, especially of the Airfix building sets. Always wanted some of them growing up. Thanks for the link! :D

I was given a box of these
    WATERLOO FRENCH GRENADIERS

for a birthday present by my friend , Richard Lawrence, at Sunday School before going into hospital for an op on my 7th birthday.

Painted them with gloss dark blue, gloss red & white, with gloss green bases.

    Oh happy days.
