I was reading the local free paper this morning and saw an article relating to a new exhibit at the Luftwaffen Museum at Gatow.

There is a new Exhibition on the West Allied Fliers who were P.O.W.s.

The Highlight is a replica of the glider built at Colditz.

Thought others would like to see the glider, which Looks very impressive.

When a similar Exhibition was put on at the IWM in London I visited the Museum, but fail to remember the wing and Body coatings.

Is this the flying replica that featured in a TV documentary a few years ago that was flown from the roof of Colditz?

I do not think so as it Looks like it has never been used. No battle scars so to speak.

I believe the glider was made specially for the documentary.

Didn't it Crash land in the documentary causing a lot of damage?

It's huge and has the worst camouflage I've ever seen.

How on earth did they keep that hidden in a maximum security prison.

    :)

Just arrived back from another trip and here are a few photographs.

On Arrival there was part aircraft taped off on a grass area.

Nothing to say what it was, but on the 7-8th of September there is annual Bundeswehr Reservist Day with lots of things going on, including various rescue organisations.

I therefore think that this could just be a disater scenerio in the making.
