Hi Robert & welcome to the forum. There is not much on line in terms of service records for WW2 veterans, but you don't have to have the service number or unit details to apply in the link CL1 has given. Closest I can find in the WW2 medal cards is an R.P. KNIGHT of the Royal Army Service Corps, living in Streatham Vale in 1950. He was awarded the Africa & Italy Stars. There was cross over with REME & RASC as when REME was formed in 1942 they took over some duties, personnel & technology from the RASC. He is not one of the recently released REME service files on ancestry, nor a service records already showing at the National Archives . The WW2 era service files are in the process of being transferred from the Ministry of Defence to the National Archives. Travers
