Hello, I am new to this, so not sure even if Im doing this right, if Im not, Im sure someone will tell me. My Father, Cyril George Atkinson died recently, and ive found lots of old photographs from when he was a despatch rider in Nijmegen. He was in the RASC, we think. Hoping someone may recognise him, or someone from the photos. He didnt speak about his time in the war, but I would love to know some more about what he did, where he was etc. Hoping someone can help. Thanks Dean Can anyone tell me how to post photos here. Ive made an album of photos, but cant get them to here.
Welcome from the netherlands, shows the photographs and shoulder title/flashes, this might help to identify a specific unit he served with

Some great photos in there. Is it possible some were taken in germany end of/post war? in the third photo down (showing 10 Coys building) there are some VW Beetles, or whatever they were called then! Pete
Thanks Pete, I have loads more photos to download sometime. Cyril landed on D Day plus 2, he went to Caen and a few other places around France. He did say he was guarding the Bols factory at one time. We know that Cyril was in Nijmegen, working as a despatch rider on his Matchless G3L, and he was in Germany at some point. Dean
I have a photo of a couple of bridges that were in my Fathers collection, was wondering if anyone could recognise them, and possibly where they were? Thanks for looking. Dean
Hello There, I seem to have hit a brick wall. I have now received my fathers war records. Would it help if I posted them here? Many Thanks Dean
