Recently I have been decorating the walls of my study with World War II photos\prints, I have added a couple examples below that were purchased from "art.com", my question is this, I'm really looking for a wide variety of photos\prints I can have framed but I am not sure where to look, art.com seems limited, I have purchased a few from Etsy but they seem limited as well, what I'm really after is shots with Airborne troops, whether on the ground or in the air, would really like something from Operation Overlord\Neptune\Market Garden. thanks in advanced. Hello Scott, I have a collection of signed prints that I have collected over the years from a well known auction site. Two are of Arnhem Bridge by Alan Fearnley and the other by David Shepherd. they depict very similar scenes and the first is signed by John Frost and the second by the Artist. They are both limited editions. I also have two depicting Pegasus Bridge and the meeting between Major Howard and Richard Gale. Both again signed. I have John Baskeyfield VC print from Arnhem (Oosterbeek actually) and a print of Dakotas over the landing ground at Arnhem signed by John Hackett and the artist John Lowry. There are many companies that sell signed prints so it is best to find an Artist first and then google for a particular print. Kind regards, Will.
Hello Scott, Some links for you : Parachute Regiment Print "Bridge at Arnhem" signed by John Frost | eBay Military Art Print Arnhem Operation Market Garden 1st Airborne div Border Reg | eBay Cranston Fine Arts I have dealt with and always check on their website first to see if there are better deals or offers. I have not yet come across any prints which have faked signatures but no doubt they do exist. I don't go for multiple signatures just one plus the painter and from limited editions so the print will be numbered e.g 353/495. You may not be interested in signed prints but they do have greater value and add an attachment to the depicted scene. Kind regards, Will.
