It does seem as though the link has become broken/discontinued. I see though that the book is available on the Naval and Military Press site sale at £10.39. BALL OF FIRE The Fifth Indian Division in the Second World War. - Naval & Military Press Tim
Yeah I managed to get another copy from Amazon, though wish I'd seen that one first as it's a fair bit cheaper!
George, is there any particular piece of information that you’re looking for or is it just a general idea of what was happening at the time? Lionboxer
Hi, Yeah I suppose I'm trying to build a detailed picture of what happened to this solider 'Tatsumi', of the 67th Infantry Regiment at the time of his death on the 21st June 1944 on one of the hill's mentioned by yourself and in Anthony Brett-James' account Ball of Fire. I've since read the chapter and it actually does this quite well, but if you happened to have any other information that'd be much appreciated. For example the book mentions the British suffered 144 casualties in taking those hills, but it'd be good to know how many Japanese troops were killed or wounded if that information exists.
Ball Of Fire: The Fifth Indian Division in the Second World War by Antony Brett-James, 1951, now archived. From the field service [American Field Service AFS], now archived. Includes Chapter 24 Anthony Brett-James. Ball of Fire. Fifth Indian Division in the Second World War. 1951. Chapter 24. Cheers Maureen
