Ok I'm looking for information on 3 brothers who were my grandfathers uncle (on the Welsh side) who all fought and were bought back from Dunkirk. This is hwat we know...

    Dilwyn Bright
    John Bright
Edwin Bright - possibly shell shocked?

    All at Dunkirk
    All from Garnant – Twn
    Carmarthenshire

I wondered what unit in France would have recruited from that area and wanted to start off here before trying to find their service records - with such little info will be tricky...

Swiper, here is the OOB for Dunkirk. I did a few searches on Garnant, but there are only 5 casualties in the local church, and none of them gave a clue.

Have looked at this again. local men were part of the following regiments

4th Carmarthenshire (Llandilo) Bn. (Home Guard)
    7th Battalion Royal Welch Fusiliers

Geoff's search engine returns 504 enteries for Carmarthenshire. The majority of the 1940 casualties are navy related, so not much help really

    Cheers mate,

To me the Welsh Guards or 1st Bn RWF (Its down as Royal Welch Regiment which is incorrect) seems about right...

I just speed read the Regimental history and it said a rolecall was conducted after the campaign - I guess War Diary time?

EDIT: Wierd, 7 RWF were part of 53rd Div and never went to Dunkirk. The thing is this is 'definately' true to my familys knowledge and is now causing me large amount of headscratching.
