Would it be wrong to try and claim his veterans badge I am going to remount the group with the arctic star, should I also add his russian40th medal and Malta GC medal as these have also been given approval for wear
Hi, Well done on obtaining the Arctic Star. IIRC The Veterans Badge cannot be claimed by deceased service personnel NOK. It can only be claimed by the service man/woman personally during their lifetime. Steve Y
I've just looked up the MOD rules for Veterans Badge pplications - link attached plus copy of the relevant paragraph which seems to create a very small group of persons eligible to apply for a deceased persons Veterans Badge. Steve Y Apply for a veterans badge or a medal - GOV.UK If you’re applying on behalf of someone who’s died You can only apply on behalf of a veteran who’s died if you get either: a War Widow’s or Widower’s Pension compensation under the Survivors Guaranteed Income Payment (SGIP)

There are loads on Ebay if you really want one and can't get one from HMG. That's where I bought a couple of spares from as the catch on my original one didn't last long.
