    Hello everyone!

I am trying to find information on the various supply depots located in the Ardennes during the Battle of the Bulge. The location of some of these is well documented, for example Danny Parker, in his book "Battle of the Bulge Hitlers Ardennes Offensive 1944-1945" mentions the 50,000 gallons of gas captured at Bullingen, and First Army Fuel Depots 2 and 3 (a total of 3 million gallons of gas) (124,000 gallons were burned near Francorchamps to create a flaming roadblock) in the Stavelot-Spa area, which included the large dump that KG Peiper came very close to finding. A dump of food, fuel and ammunition set up by the 7th Armored Division at Samree was captured (20,000 gallons of fuel were captured). I know at Liege (400,000 gallons were detonated by a V-1 buzz bomb) and the surrounding area had huge dumps of fuel and other supplies, and there were depots in the area around Eupen.

Let us consider fuel dumps only, and I will define the area under consideration to be as follows. Starting from the December 16 "start line" the area as far West as Charleroi, and as far South as Sedan and as far North as Liege. Depots 2 and 3 were evacuated to Liege, what was being held at Liege before this was added there? Were the dumps in Liege or in locations in the surrounding area? And how much was being held around the Charleroi - Namur area? I have read that this area contained huge fuel dumps (as well as other stores and equipment) but I just cant seem to find any sources that gives any specific info on locations or how much fuel was there. Would anyone have any other information?

    Thanks!

    Marty
